UMAI is taking Japanese classic dishes to new heights. Here you will find Japanese staples such a Tonkotsu, Pork Chashu, and Gyoza infused with Southeast Asian flavors like coconut milk, lemongrass, and shrimp paste which honor dishes such as Tom yum and Curry.

THE CHEF

Ms. Preeyaporn Aroonchokthawon (aka Jaa) and Ms. Sirinda Liwlompaisan join forces to bring a delicious and heartwarming dining experience through UMAI.

Using popular Japanese dishes and using their own personal experiences from their native Thailand, you will quickly experience the essence of home cooking and life influences with every bite.

As a child, Jaa's childhood was centered around restaurants. After working with a Japanese company for a decade, her enthusiasm for Japanese food and culture grew. Putting those experiences to use. She decided to open UMAI to share those memories with others.
